Emily dragged Andy to come to the Quincy August Moon Festival today where they visited my booth and walked around the (almost closing) festival. We then went back to my place where they visited with Ginger and Juju and Emily helped me with nail clippings.
Afterwards, we all headed over to the Super 88 Food Connection to get some Chinese food then went over the Emily and Andy’s place to visit her buns.
This is Sunflower. She was rescued when her previous caretaker took a pair of scissors and cut off her ears – for fun! She’s quite squeamish and not trusting of humans. She won’t even take fruit from me even though I left it on the floor of her cage.
This is Ivy. She’s a flemish mix. She’s a foster bun of Emily’s as well. Ivy got an injection in her shoulder area and ever since the injection, she’s been licking and scratching the spot raw. It’s lost all the fur and bloody. So Emily puts dressing on it to prevent her from scratching at it.

I have entire conversations with my bunnies.
Of course I know they’re not answering me back. I mean, I’m not crazy. Here is a typical conversation I have with them when I see them after a long day.
me: Bunnies!
me: *kisses* Did we have a good day?
me: I know, you’re sleepy.
me: You slept all day? You’re a sleepy bunny!
me: Aww, you want more pets? Ok.
me: *kisses*
me: I had a rough day but I missed you so much!
…you get the idea. Even though they do not speak to me in the traditional sense, I have a bond with them that I feel I’m empathically linked to them and we know how each other is feeling.
I pretend, but then again, I know they get it.
